Cristian Vega

Welcome!

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María under the supervision of Luis Briceño. Before joining UTFSM, I completed my PhD in Applied Mathematics at the Università di Genova (UniGe), within the Machine Learning Genoa Center (MaLGa), under the supervision of Silvia Villa and Lorenzo Rosasco. Then, I spent two years researching with Felipe Lara in the University of Tarapacá.

My current research interests include:

• Nonconvex optimization
• Splitting algorithms
• Inertial and stochastic methods
• Inverse problems
• Overparameterization

I am particularly interested in structured nonconvexity and splitting algorithms for solving monotone inclusions.
